COVID-19

We have a COVID SAFE PLAN is in place

In response to the Corona Virus Pandemic we have changed some of our procedures to keep you safe.

Triage

Prior to entering the premises all patients are screened by reception staff using current COVID-19 risk questionnaire.
Any patient reporting epidemiological or clinical criteria for risk of COVID-19, even if symptoms are mild, is requested not to attend the clinic until after a medical phone assessment has occurred.
A telephone appointment is immediately arranged for that purpose (Telehealth items may apply). The doctor will review and organise a face to face appointment if appropriate.

Physical distancing and waiting room changes

Our floor has markings to keep patients and staff at least 1.5 meters apart from each other. Our chairs are placed 1.5 metres apart.
Waiting in the car has been implemented to reduce the numbers of patients in the waiting room.
Extra people accompanying patients have been asked to either, not attend or wait in the car, thus reducing the number of people in the clinic and our consulting rooms.
Perspex screens have been installed at the counter to keep patients and administration staff safe.
Payment is encouraged via ‘tap and go’ to assist with hand hygiene.

Hygiene and Cleaning

Alcohol-based hand sanitiser is provided at all entrances to the practice.
Posters on correct handwashing are displayed throughout the practice.
Frequently touched surfaces including counters, handrails, doors, till, phones, keyboards, other shared equipment and EFTPOS facilities are regularly cleaned.
Cleaning and disinfecting protocols and practices are in place in accordance with guidelines from the Department of Health, Safe Work Australia and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
